If you have never been to your local Farmers Market, you are truly missing out on a special treat. When we started our company, the market was our lifeline.
I must admit that we should have stopped doing the markets long ago due to time constraints, but they are addicting. I absolutely love the transformation that takes place in the school parking lot. One minute, this plot of land is merely blacktop with lines drawn for parking spaces, and a minute later it is a hustling and bustling little city that just pops up before your very eyes!
Trucks, Vans, Cars and Trailers all merge in this little space to unpack their wares. Tents pop up, tables unfold and fruits, vegetables, flowers, local honey, hummus and crafts of all varieties fill the spaces full of color and life. A local band plays and music fills the air.
The artisans and farmers are all wonderful and hard working people, and the customers became our friends. Our local market is for charity with 10% of our sales donated to Hospice. We have looked forward to our weekly “dates” but now the time has come to move on. We will continue to contribute to Hospice, but our efforts must now be directed elsewhere to better serve our customers.

One of the things I love about soap is how each batch is a unique, new and fresh creation. As each bar sits in it’s mold, waiting to be popped out to dry, I sometimes contemplate whose nose will do the sniffing, whose hands will do the washing and whose skin will delight in the feel of our little bit of heaven gliding along their skin.
